Lindon Barr

Artistic Director

Lindon Barr is a British Choreographer, Dance Artist and Lecturer based in London working across the UK and internationally. He started his journey at Bodywork Company, Cambridge studying a range of dance disciplines from Ballet to Hip Hop before travelling to studios in Los Angeles & New York to further his training and knowledge. Lindon works closely with the Olivier Award Winning ‘Boy Blue’ and ‘ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company’. He is also the Artistic Director of his own Award Winning Hip Hop Dance Company ‘Elementz Entertainment’.

 

As a choreographer Lindon’s biggest credit to date was working on the new West End Musical - Exposure (St. James Theatre, Victoria). Lindon received a Broadway World Awards nomination for Best Choreography for his work on Exposure. He has also toured his work ‘Perception’ to Stockholm winning the Emerging Talent Award. Other choreographic credits include America’s Got Talent, Rock The Circus (German Tour), Norwegian Cruise Lines, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, BMW, Coca Cola, O2, The London Fashion Festival, Vidal Sassoon & Love Box Music Festival. Lindon also worked with Maltese Artist, Brooke for her performance at the Bay Music Awards in Malta.

 

Lindon’s performance credits are extensive and include London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Jesus Christ Superstar (World Arena Tour), Thriller Live (West End), Some Like It Hip Hop (West End & UK Tour), Into The Hoods: Remixed (West End & UK Tour), Message In A Bottle (Original West End & World Tour Cast), The Five (UK Tour), The Brit Awards, The X Factor, San Francisco Hip Hop Dance Fest, Russian Classical Ballet Theatre & EA Sports. He has also danced for Artists such as Take That, Mariah Carey, Little Mix, Rita Ora, Ally Brooke, Ed Sheeran & Coldplay. Lindon enjoys travelling and has had the privilege of performing throughout Europe, USA, Africa & Australia.

 

Lindon has taught at many institutions across the UK and internationally including Urdang (London), Pineapple Dance Studios (London), Base Dance Studios (London), Westside Performing Arts (Ireland) and lectured in Hip Hop Artistry at the Institute of Contemporary Theatre in Manchester. He has also judged at competitions including BDO World Street Dance Championships, IDTA National Street Finals & Midland’s Best Dance Crew.

 

Other personal achievements include competing at the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas, USA and becoming the National Adult Freestyle Champion.

Elementz Hip Hop Dance Company London

Founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Lindon Barr, Elementz is an award-winning Hip Hop and Street Dance company with an international reputation for artistry, authenticity, and community. What began as a collective of friends has grown into a London-based company that has welcomed over 150 dancers and trained nearly 300 Academy students - many of whom remain part of the Elementz family today.

For almost two decades, Elementz has been dedicated to shaping culture, inspiring creativity, and building community through the power of dance.

 

Performance & Theatre

As a theatre company, Elementz has performed at festivals and venues worldwide, from Breakin’ Convention and the Royal Opera House to the HHI World Championships in Las Vegas, the Stockholm Fringe Festival, and the Bay Music Awards in Malta. Other highlights include the IDO World Hip Hop Championships (Poland), Rock the Circus (German Tour), and appearances at Sadler’s Wells, Hammersmith Apollo, and Indigo2.

Elementz regularly collaborates with global brands, delivering unforgettable performances for live productions, product launches, and private events. Past clients include Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, Citroën, JD Sports, Coca-Cola, and Vidal Sassoon, showcasing the company’s ability to merge artistry with entertainment at the highest level.

 

Training & Community

For nearly 20 years, Elementz has invested in the next generation of talent through weekly classes, workshops, and outreach across East Anglia, Essex, London, and beyond. With over 200 students attending weekly, the flagship Elementz Academy in Loughton, Essex, provides training and mentorship for young performers aged 4–18.

In 2025, the Academy proudly became a Community Interest Company (CIC), deepening its commitment to young people, Hip Hop culture, and local communities. At its heart is the Youth Company, offering mentorship, support, and performance opportunities that empower young dancers not only as artists but as confident, creative individuals.

 

Industry Impact

Elementz dancers and alumni have featured in world-class productions including Thriller Live, Starlight Express, and the London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies, as well as collaborations with global stars such as Mariah Carey, Take That, and Busta Rhymes. Members have also contributed to leading companies like ZooNation and Boy Blue.

As Elementz celebrates its 20th year, the company has evolved into two branches under one brand:

- Elementz Dance Company Ltd – delivering professional training in Hip Hop and Street Dance with a strong focus on Hip Hop Theatre, while creating performance opportunities across theatre, screen, and corporate entertainment.

- Elementz Academy CIC – the community branch, committed to nurturing talent and empowering the next generation through mentorship, training, and creative opportunities.
